Combating anti-microbial resistance: a global challenge
High School event organized by Farmindustria
Antibiotics are losing their effectiveness at a rate which would have been unthinkable just a few years ago because bacteria have developed strategies capable of neutralising them and some of these have become full-blown super-bacteria. In a not too far distant future, it is possible that antibiotics will no longer function properly when required.
What are super-bacteria? Why are they so dangerous? How can we combat the antibiotic resistance phenomenon including via simply washing our hands? This Farmindustria initiative takes the form of a scientific journalist interviewing a researcher who will respond to the former’s questions using straightforward and effective language and with the help of a microscope and a wash basin.
