Personal and professional ethical issues raised by the pandemic


The Covid-19 pandemic is in constant evolution, relatively unpredictable and of uncertain length, relative to the relatively scarce resources available when measured against need, imposes choices in the health field relating to hospital access, intensive care, the use of drugs and vaccines in a professional and health framework loaded with ethical tension. Scientific research and drug experimentation also do not escape required assessment levels guaranteeing quality and ethical sustainability. Safeguard demands are also coming from health professionals who, having been dramatically involved in taking on the pandemic challenge, see the professional responsibility theme as urgent.
