Aaron Ciechanover

Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2004

Aaron Ciechanover was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2004 after discovering the ubiquitin system which disposes from the body faulty proteins that if accumulated cause many diseases.

He is Professor at the Unit of Biochemistry and Director of the Rappaport Family Institute for Research in Medical Sciences of Technion in Haifa (Israel).
