Giorgio Racagni is president of the Italian Pharmacological Society (SIF). He worked for two years at the National Institute of Mental Health in Washington, D.C. He is the former secretary-general and president of CINP (Collegium International Neuropsichopharmacologicum).
Dr. Racagni has been honoured with such international research awards as the Anna Monika Prize (German Academy of Neuroscience and Education) and Korsakoff (Russian Academy of Medical Sciences) for neurobiological and molecular studies of the mechanisms of action of antidepressant and antipsychotic medications. He has received many research grants (European Union, Fondazione Cariplo, Projects of Relevant National Interest (PRIN) and other national and international foundations).
He is the author of 476 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, as well as coordinating the publication of 54 books on neuropsychopharmological topics.
