Nicola Magrini

General Director AIFA, Italian Agency of Medicine, doctor specialized in clinical pharmacology. He has twenty years of experience in the evaluation of medicines, in the development of pharmaceutical guidelines and policies. He comes from OMS, where he has been Secretary of the List of Essential Medicines (WHO-EML) since 2014. Dr. Magrini began his career as a researcher at the University of Bologna and at the Mario Negri Institute. In 1999 he founded the CeVEAS – Centre for the evaluation of the effectiveness of health care, Modena, which he directed until 2012. He was a founding member of the Italian Cochrane Center and Director of the OMS Collaborative Center for the synthesis of evidence and the development of guidelines from 2008 to 2014. Since 2014 he has coordinated the Committee of Experts which draws up the list of essential drugs of the OMS (WHO-EML) for the year 2015. He was also a member of the OMS Ethics Committee (WHO-ERC) for clinical research.
