Pier Mannuccio Mannucci
Pier Mannuccio Mannucci is an emeritus professor of Internal Medicine. From 2010 to 2015, he served as scientific director of the IRCCS Ca’ Grande Ospedale Maggiore Policlinic Foundation.
He was been honoured with various international awards, including the Robert Grant Medal Award, ISTH Distinguished Career Award, Ham-Wasserman Lecture, Jean Bernard Award, and awards from the American Society of Hematology and the European Hematology Association.
He has served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis from 1998 to 2006, of the European Journal of Internal Medicine since 2009, and has been associate editor of Hematologica since 2018.
Dr. Mannucci is the also the recipient of many Italian honours, including the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Grande ufficiale), Sigillo Longobardo of the Lombardy Region, Gold Medal of Merit for Public Health of the Ministry of Health and Ambrogino d’Oro of the City of Milan.
He is the author of 1235 original publications in scientific journals and has a 114 h-index in Web of Science and 117 in Scopus.
He founded the “Gruppo 2003” organisation of the most-cited Italian researchers in the world.
