Brief Biography
Roberto Di Bartolomeo started his medical career at the University of Bologna ni 1975. Specialized in Cardiovascular Surgery, Vascular Surgery and General Surgery.
He has always worked i n the Cardiac Surgery Unit of St. Orsola Hospital, Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna – Italy.
During this period he has spent many periods abroad (USA, Holland, France).
In 2000 he became Professor of Cardiac Surgery in Bologna.
Since August 2002 until October 31th 2018: Director of the Cardiac Surgery Unit of the Policlinico St. Orsola, Bologna – Italy.
From 2002 until 2016: Director of the Graduate School in Cardiac Surgery of the Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna – Italy.
Member and Past President of the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery (SICCH).
Member of European Association of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) and American Association of Thoracic Surgeons (AATS).
Editorial Board Member for EJCTS, JCTS, and other important journals.
Author of more than 450 scientific publications.
